The installation of a painting in Job Information Center Stans by Martin Gut.
The coice of profession as the issue of sleep/ to sleep on
When one enters the Job Information Center Stans Martin Gut`s art installation catches one`s eye.
The panorama of mountains was painted in light blue tones directly onto the wall. Beneath the mountains range small pictures distributed onto the landscape like small houses full of the symbolik of professions. It contains metaphors for fields of professions or occupations with certain interpretational liberty.
Over the whole width of the wall on the part closest to the floor there is an oil painting in green tones. It shall symbolize the uncertainty/ unconcious - a fog that contains all colors and possibilities, but never intends to uncover anything.
A man and a woman sleep. Their heads are pointing towards a tree which is positioned between the uncertain/ unconcious and the occupations of the houses.
Martin Gut interprets sleep and the uncertain/ unconcious as vocational advisor. However, at the same time the professional fields displayed in the painting allow a creative approach to decisions.
